Edge protection
Edge and surface protection is used to protect exposed parts of products – such as corners, edges and flat surfaces – against impact, bruising, abrasion or other mechanical damage. They are most often made of expanded polyethylene (EPE), cardboard or combined materials that provide high flexibility and cushioning properties.
This type of protection is suitable for packaging furniture, glass, shop windows, machine parts, boards and other products with straight or sharp edges. It is used alone or in combination with packaging materials such as stretch film, boxes or pallets.
There are different types – foam profiles in the shape of “L”, “U” or “O”, corners made of cardboard, or protective tapes made of corrugated cardboard or plastic.
Foam profiles
Pěnové profily jsou vyrobeny z expandovaného polyetylenu (EPE) a představují ideální řešení pro ochranu hran, rohů, válcových i plochých výrobků před nárazy, poškrábáním či jiným mechanickým poškozením. Díky vysoké pružnosti, nízké hmotnosti a schopnosti absorbovat nárazy slouží jako preventivní ochrana zejména u výrobků s citlivými povrchy (sklo, nábytek, elektronika, lakované díly apod.).
Plastic corners
Plastic corners are practical protective elements designed to secure corners and edges of products during transport and storage. They are most often used in combination with steel, PP or PET tapes to prevent them from cutting into the packaging or the product itself.
Paper corners
Apir corners (also called corners or borders) are made from recycled multi-ply cardboard pressed into an "L" shape. They serve to protect the edges and corners of products from mechanical damage, deformation or cutting of the packaging during handling, storage or transport.
