MULTIferro® Chips – a story from practice

When VCI bags were not the solution, MULTIferro® Chips helped

One of our customers produces large steel weldments for export to Germany. Because of their size and sharp edges, it was not possible to use VCI bags or foil – the bags would have quickly torn and handling would have been too difficult. Nevertheless, it was necessary to ensure that the products reached the end customer without a single sign of corrosion.

Together we found a simple solution: insert MULTIferro® Chips directly into the wooden crates in which the weldments are transported. These paper inserts with VCI inhibitors created a protective atmosphere inside the packaging and reliably prevented corrosion even during several weeks of transport and subsequent storage.

Result? No complaints, no additional costs and, most importantly, a happy customer who could continue to use their existing packaging solution – just with the clever addition of VCI chips.
