How Anti-Corrosion Oil Works?
Anti-corrosion oil is an active protective agent designed to protect metal surfaces against corrosion during production, storage, and transportation. After application, it forms a continuous protective film on the metal surface, limiting the access of moisture, oxygen, and other corrosive substances from the surrounding environment.
At the same time, the protective layer contains corrosion inhibitors that adsorb onto the metal surface and slow down electrochemical corrosion processes — especially the anodic oxidation of metal and the cathodic reduction of oxygen in the presence of an electrolyte.
The corrosion reaction of iron can be expressed as:

The oil film reduces the contact of the metal with water, salt aerosols, and aggressive atmospheres, thereby limiting the formation of corrosion current and protecting the surface from oxidation.

How to Properly Use PROTECTcor® 500S and PROTECTcor® 500 Anti-Corrosion Oils
1. Surface Preparation
Before application, the metal surface must be clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, machining fluid residues, or active corrosion. Proper surface preparation ensures maximum effectiveness of the protective film.
2. Oil Application
The oil can be applied by:

4. Storage and Protection

5. Oil Removal
If necessary, the protective film can be removed using standard industrial degreasers or technical cleaning agents before further processing operations such as painting, welding, or assembly.
